Goodness and wisdom of Buddha

The Buddha is characterized by its profound wisdom. Also the notion of wisdom is at the heart of Buddhism. Yet it is a vague concept, difficult to describe and even more difficult to achieve.
How do we become wise? Is that it is something that we can actively develop, or do we just expect us settle down with age?

Guerre d'Algérie (1954-1962):Les faits marquants.

Délégation des principaux dirigeants du FLN (de gauche à droite : Mohamed Khider, Mostefa Lacheraf, Hocine Aït Ahmed, Mohamed Boudiaf et Ahmed Ben Bella) après leur arrestation à la suite du détournement, le 22 octobre 1956 par l'Armée française, de leur avion civil marocain, entre Rabat et Tunis, en direction du Caire (Égypte).

Un vaste mouvement de révoltes naît au fil des ans. L'algérien sujet, sans droit politique, de la France devient citoyen français par la loi du 20 septembre 194792 et peut désormais circuler librement entre l'Algérie et la métropole. Selon le journaliste et écrivain Yves Courrière : « Lors du xxe siècle, 75 % des Algériens n'étaient pas scolarisés. La majorité de la population était au chômage. Les colons faisaient leurs affaires. L'algérien était sujet de la France et non un citoyen de la France ».

Dans les années 60, un groupe d'ingénieurs avait travaillé sur un prototype de moto volante, avant d'abandonner son projet fou, incapable de résoudre les problèmes de stabilité dans l'air que posait un tel engin. Il a fallu attendre George Lucas pour voir apparaître sur nos écrans des motos à suspension dans le Retour du Jedi, en 1983.

7 milliards d'habitants sur terre

Selon une récente étude de l'Institut national d'Etudes Démographiques (INED), la population mondiale a franchi le seuil de 7 milliards d'habitants en 2011 et devrait s'établir à près de 10 milliards en 2025.

Il y a 10 000 ans, la population mondiale n'atteignait probablement que quelques millions d'âmes. Il y a deux mille ans, environ 250 millions d'habitants, après de nombreux siècles d'une progression très lente. Or, à la fin du XVIIIème siècle, sous l'effet des progrès engendrés par l'hygiène, la médecine et la révolution industrielle, l'équilibre séculaire entre les nombreux décès et naissances s'est rompu. Ce début de transition démographique s'est produit dans un premier temps en Europe de l'ouest et aux Etats-Unis : les décès deviennent alors moins nombreux, favorisant l'accroissement de la population. Ce phénomène s'est ensuite produit dans d'autres pays : la population mondiale a alors entamé un essor exponentiel.

À cette époque le territoire de l'actuelle Algérie était considérablement divisé. Au sud le sultanat de Touggourt était indépendant depuis 1414, tandis qu'au nord-ouest la région était gouvernée par les zianides, à l'exception de la ville d'Oran qui était gouvernée par les Espagnols depuis 1509. La conquête ottomane de la région d'Alger commença en 1518, et fut successivement gouvernée, pour le compte de l'Empire ottoman, par des beylerbeys (gouverneurs généraux) de 1518 à 1587, des pachas de 1587 à 1659, des aghas de 1659 à 1671 et des deys de 1671 à 1830.

Flamber de rage et de lucidité

Tribune écrite avec plusieurs écrivains et journalistes originaires du Magheb.Ce texte a paru dans le journal "Le Monde" dans son édition du 4 Février 2011.

Le monde arabe flambe et ce n'est pas une simple figure de style. Il flambe littéralement dans la chair de ses citoyens ; il flambe de rage désespérée devant le mépris sans borne dans lequel le tiennent tous les dirigeants arabes de l'Atlantique à la mer Rouge ; il flambe d'indignation devant la prédation quasi généralisée des richesses nationales dont les peuples de la région sont si injustement spoliés ; il flambe parce qu'il vient un moment où il constate qu'il n'est plus possible de supporter cette indignité sans étouffer d'amertume et de colère.
